I don't think that many people can produce uniform symptoms out of nothing

I recall being told that many years ago, before the insulin connection was made, that people with Diabetes were thought to be mentally ill.

What these "skeptics" fail to understand is that they are taking the position that otherwise competent people (one chronic disease victim wrote that Seabiscuit book) are displaying serious physiological problems not for any physical reason but because they have some little-understood mental problem. I'm a real skeptic; I don't think that many people can produce uniform symptoms out of nothing.
