Anecdotes from people who are even more disabled than MS are very scary

The purpose of this blog is to chronicle the treatment of my my wife’s human gamma retrovirus (HGRV) associated neuro-immune illness, especially her experience with anti-retrovirals (ARVs).

We identified several pros and cons of ARV therapy. Some pros:

Some people are getting better on ARVs. After years of MS steadily getting worse, and having tried many treatments, the probability of a significant, sustained improvement in MS’s health in the absence of ARV therapy seems to be very close to zero.

ARVs may prevent MS from progressing to an even worse state of illness. Anecdotes from people who are even more disabled than MS are very scary. People who are completely bed-bound, who have difficulty breathing, feeding themselves, etc.
