CBT: THEY CAN'T EVEN GET THE NAME RIGHT

“Great question about why we use the term “CT” for Cognitive Therapy instead of “CBT” for Cognitive Behavior Therapy.

We’re actually going to be posting about this difference soon, but the short answer is that Cognitive Behavior Therapy is technically an umbrella term for many different therapies that share some common elements — CBT is not one exact therapy.

CT, on the other hand, refers to a particular therapy developed by Aaron T. Beck, M.D. in the 1960s, that understands people’s problems as related to their thinking and that uses cognitive, behavioral, and a variety of other techniques to help people change their thinking, behavior, mood, and sometimes physiological response.

However, many people refer to CT (Aaron Beck’s therapy) as CBT… many news articles about him and the therapy he developed use the terms interchangeably.
So some people who use the term “CBT” may actually mean “CT.”"

This you can find on the website of the founder of CT or CBT. So if you read this carefully the CBT BLOKEYS don’t even know what they talk about if they refer to their OWN therapy.

VERY VERY INTERESTING INDEED JAMES.

There is even a CT Academy, with a list as long as your elbow for what they use their CT for.

The very interesting thing is, they mention everything from anxiety to hay fever and runny noses, BUT they don’t MENTION ME, or as it is an American site, CFS.

Strange don’t you think?????
So even the founder of this therapy thinks IT DOESN'T WORK for ME. Just like we have been saying for YEARS.

I have written to both the academy and the founder to ask about CT and ME (CFS).The academy referred me back to the founder, but like my CASTLE BUILDING TODDLER FRIENDS or my FRIENDS at the TIMES, he hasn’t responded to my mail from a month ago (yet).

So we now know, they CAN NOT DIAGNOSE ME. They do NOT even know what sort of therapy they are using.

So all they are GOOD at, very good at, is Selling HOT AIR. And the Government is paying ELEVEN MILLION pounds just for that.

Mr Gordon Brown, are you sure you are feeling well today???? Time to GET your money back Boss, and use it for something useful. Proper reserach maybe??? Just a thought.

  1. Dr S, Gordon is too busy trying to get our troops out of Iraq to be bothered with a piffling 11 million wasted on the CBT fiasco.

Both were the fault of Bishop Blair who everyone always knew was Jesus in disguise. Bishop Blair is now able to spend much more time in Bethlehem so our suspicions have been confirmed. Those CBT chappies can't let go of anything so I fear the money may be lost.

  2. Thx, yeah I was afraid of that.
But not to worry. Mr Brown is a good man. Or so they say.

  3. Dear Dr Speedy,
Yes Mr Brown is a good man but some of the nasty newspapers here are accusing him of being indecisive.
Isn't CBT supposed to help with decision making? If he can't get our money back off the buggers why doesn't he try a few sessions?
They won't even charge as Bishop Blair shelled out a fortune. Two sessions of CBT and we'll have a November election.
