Ability to work ATOS medical test: An invitation to Daily Express reporter to join ME

Dr John H Greensmith, ME Free For All.org, 27 January 2011:

Thank you, Daily Express, for breaking the tradition of polarised black or white views about the validity and reliability of the test to assess ability for work and, therefore, eligibility for Incapacity Benefit or the Employment and Support Allowance ESA that will replace it, by being prepared to consider all sides of the argument (75% on sick are skiving, Daily Express, 26 January 2011); Medical test can't always determine fitness to work, Letters, Daily Express, 27 January 2011).

When I am invited to a medical assessment for a review of my Incapacity Benefit for M.E. (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis), would one of your reporters like to me as a silent independent observer, with no preconceived notions of procedure, outcome of the test, follow up and then report it in the objective way that taxpayers deserve to make up their own minds?

Yours sincerely
Dr John H Greensmith
