Congratulations to Ellen Piro, president of the Norwegian ME Association, who was awarded the King of Norway's silver medal for her services to ME/CFS
Invest in ME:
Friday 12th May 2011 Ellen Piro was awarded an honorary medal from the King of Norway. Ellen was awarded the King's Silver Medal for her work with ME.
The King's service medal was founded by King Haakon VII 1 in February 1908. It is awarded "for service to progress in art, science and business, and for the outstanding public service. "
The medal is awarded in gold or silver.
In the years that IiME have known and worked with Ellen and the Norwegian MEA we can attest to her courage, determination and sacrifice in improving conditions for people with ME and their families and for raising awareness of ME.
This award is hugely deserved and is a outstanding honour for an outstanding lady.
There have been very few, if any, similar awards for work related with ME.
This is a historic moment for the ME community and for Norway.
