  1. Adrian Sanders is MP for Torquay - this is happening just down the road from me! Is absolutely outrageous. Incidentally, Adrian Sanders is also on the All Party Group for ME/CFS. He ought to know that ME is a neurological condition and NOT psychological.

    What can be done???

  2. Hi there, the Countess of Mar may be a good contact. She has been known to fight for the rights of ME & chronic Lyme sufferers. I highly recommend her to assist in Brian's plight. I have known of other cases where physically ill people have been treated disrespectfully & shuffled off to mental institutions. This is a sad state of affairs & one I find totally abhorrent.

  3. Does anyone have a link? I'm looking for this online and am only finding pages from the last time he was sectioned.

  4. Very distressing for those of us with severe ME, barely managing. Brian has my deep sympathy and best wishes for the sheer guts not to give in to the wicked abuse. Unfortunately our emotions only help him when we connect them to action. Thank you for posting this, at least we are not silent.

  8. Shelly,

Would you be able to travel and see Brian or be able to involve the local MP?

  9. Shelly,
I hope you can help this chap out. Can you contact local ME groups to let them know what is going on.

Please can you contact Adrian Sanders MP asap. You'd need to be in his area/constituency for him to take any notice.

Could you or someone in good health that knows about ME visit him?

  10. Just to say I have spoken to Brian and two of us are hoping to visit him to assess the situation.

  11. any updates on Brian?

  12. Brian very recently requested that he be taken to A&E as he felt so ill - the (alleged!) answer to his request was to be punched by staff and then forcibly injected.

Brian is being (allegedly!) severely abused by those paid to care for him.

Brian is insured by private health insurers Unum. They are (allegedly) set to save a large amount of money if his diagnosis is one of psychiatric illness.

Myalgic Encephalomyelitis is classified as a neurological illness.

  13. He is vomiting about five times a day, possibly as a result of the anti-psychotic drugs he is forced to take, and (allegedly!) receiving no medical care for this.

This man could well die from the cruel treatment he is receiving.

  14. Can whoever knows what's going on with Brian alert the mainstream media, or somebody who might be able to intervene? Has this already been tried?

  15. he is apparently being moved to a secure private hospital today

  16. Private regular hospital, or private mental hospital? I hope this is a good turn of events.

  18. He says when he has collapsed on the floor, he is ignored as if he 'is putting it on', and the even the doctor has just stepped over him when he can't get up.

  19. I repeat: Can whoever knows what's going on with Brian alert the mainstream media, or somebody who might be able to intervene? Has this already been tried?

Telling the media or authorities or whomever may not help at all, but doing nothing will definitely not help at all.
