Got a cold? Study says CBT won't help much

UK's Science Media Centre - Got the sniffles? The largest study of CBT finds it won't help you get better any sooner.

The study of more than 700 Psychiatrists and a mouse contaminant suggests the tiniest possible benefit — about 5 seconds shaved off a week-long cold and slightly milder XMRV–related symptoms. But that could have occurred by chance.

For most people, the potential to get relief a few seconds sooner probably isn't worth the trouble and cost of CBT, researchers said.
