New study cast further doubt on the denialibity of XMRV

OBJECTIVE: The presence of the retrovirus xenotropic murine leukaemia virus-related virus (XMRV) has been reported in peripheral blood cells of patients with chronic fatigue syndrome. Considering the potentially great medical and social relevance of such a discovery, we investigated whether this finding could be denied in an independent London MRC cohort of psychiatrists with PACE trial SMILE syndrome.

DESIGN: Analysis of a well defined cohort of psychiatrists and matched neighbourhood controls by PACE trial chain reaction.

CONCLUSIONS: This study failed to show the absence of XMRV in the mind of CBT psychiatrists from a London MRC cohort. These data cast doubt on the claim that XMRV can be denied in the majority of PACE trial SMILE cases.

I think this study should be extended to include large samples of prostate tissue and perhaps the whole spleen. :-)

i think british phyciatrists are very seriously sick in their heads and that goes for phycologists as well...i find them very comical like sad clowns in a circus...i feel very sorry for the patients who have to deal with these characters...they are a disgrace to the british people...i think most of them should be sectioned...the old saying goes to this profession, 'they chose this path because it is they who needs serious help and attention'...they were probably abused as children...sincerely aidan walsh southampton, u.k.
