As far as I'm concerned, it's the public authorities who have been acting irrational when it comes to the serious public health issue of ME.
Unfortunately for ME sufferers, those in charge of public ME policy have acted perfectly rationally when it comes to the priorities of private insurance companies and other finanacial vested interests.
Acting hysterically and irrationally, because your serious health problems are being ignored by a modern technologically advanced society which claims to be moral and humane, I would argue is a perfectly sane and rational respone. Unless you have the patience of a saint or a Job, this is usually the only avenue of expression left to those who have been deliberately and systematically silenced, disenfranchised and disappeared, as ME sufferers undoubtedly have.
