ME/CFS tonight on CBS Evening News with Katie Couric - Tell your story!
Posted by Lannie in the Lymelight:
Reports related to CBS Evening News with Katie Couric, covering ME/CFS has been confirmed. Cort Johnson of Phoenix Rising has confirmed that CBS was in Miami this week interviewing Dr. Klimas.
Two other sources were from two different ME/CFS patients' friends/family in different parts of the country who heard promos on the CBS Evening News. All suggest coverage by Katie Couric during the evening news broadcast, Wednesday, February 23rd, 2011 (check your local listings for times).
CONCERN AMONGST PATIENT COMMUNITY
Many patients are quite distressed by the timing of the coverage, following the release of the UK-based PACE trial. If reviewed closely, the results are sub-par to put it nicely.

TELL YOUR STORY
So what can we do as a community right now? Well, we don’t quite know yet how Ms. Couric will cover the story. So we can't jump to any conclusions just yet. The fact that she interviewed Dr. Klimas means she received an opposing view of the PACE trial. How it will be reported is to be seen shortly. Hours from now actually.
Until then, tell your story to CBS and to Ms. Couric. Explain how exercise induces a crash for you. Explain how you live the same way an AIDS patient does 2 months before dying. Explain how the lack of treatment and respect is running rampant in not only our communities, but in our doctors’ offices. Suggest experts who do understand this disease as future resources for them. Ask for future coverage. Plead our case.
